Truckload carrier is estimating savings of thousands of dollars per year by
implementing DiamondMine EDI software from Intelek
Norman, Oklahoma - September 20, 2009 -Intelek Technologies Corporation,
developers of leading edge web-based EDI and load gathering solutions for the
trucking industry, today announced at the TMW TransForum 2009 Users
Conference that Riverside Transport Inc. (RTI) has adopted its DiamondMine
EDI translation software. The truckload carrier is now using Intelek’s
DiamondMine software integrated with TMWSuite enterprise transportation
software from TMW Systems Inc. to manage EDI more effectively and cost
efficiently.
“A number of our shippers mandate that we have EDI capabilities,” said Bill
Grojean, president of Riverside Transport. “We selected DiamondMine EDI
translation software to meet those needs. It is a very effective one-stop solution
that is already lowering our EDI translation costs by more than 40 percent.

allowing us to concentrate on moving loads, serving our customers and
generating freight revenue.”
Riverside Transport, based in Kansas City, Kansas, is a contract and common
motor carrier that serves a range of customers, including a number of Fortune
500 corporations. Its fleet of 400 trucks provides truckload service, hauling paper
and consumer goods as well as building materials.
“DiamondMine EDI enables us to seamlessly exchange data between our
enterprise software and ours shippers’ load management systems,” explained
Brian Hedge, IT director at RTI. “Previously, we were using a combination of inhouse
and third party systems to handle these transactions. That process was
both time consuming and expensive nor is it our core competency. We currently
have over 40 DiamondMine EDI maps set up for 15 customers, which has
already saved us a considerable amount of money and we anticipate even
greater savings as more customers are added and converted in the future.”
DiamondMine EDI translation software, provided as a Software-as-a-Service
(SaaS) solution, is hosted by Intelek on its IBM iSeries platform. Accessible to
RTI over the Internet, the product allows the carrier to communicate electronically
with its shippers to transfer loads, shipment status records, invoices and
electronic payments using over 6,100 available EDI maps.
